Exponential Education is an innovative idea to build future leaders among particularly young girls and boys whereby they learn facts in the context of English and Mathematics, Integrated Health and other disciplines. It is a model that emphasises girls mentoring others for future development geared towards leadership and participation in decision making, community service as well as build the spirit of volunteerism. Exponential Educational programs has reached more girls than boys with the girls totalling 500 and the boys totalling about 100.
A BRIEF REPORT ABOUT THE EXPONENTIAL EDUCATION PROGRAM
Introduction
The expo program which started in 2010 with 15 junior high school pupils has now benefited over 1,000 pupils from the Greater Accra and Eastern regions of Ghana.
Program Outcome
Program outcome has shown that participants have benefited greatly for instance volunteer tutors. Capacities for self development have been enhanced.
A lot have now gained confidence to interact with people at the community level. Some have acquired the skill of self learning and to think and analyze social issues and solve problems.
In addition they have acquired some spirit of volunteerism to serve their communities. The young females have also gained the needed confidence to enable them participate meaningfully in public life in the future, and in their career development advancement.
Finally program beneficiaries, Junior high school pupils who worked tirelessly during program cycle had gained some understanding on the difficult basic principles in maths and English. This has taken out the fear that a lot them had in mathematics and other mathematical related subjects.
Objectives
The objectives are to:
Build the self-esteem Of program beneficiaries (volunteer tutors and pupils)
Improve their self confidence for future community service
Engage in competency skills for self-development and decision making.
Acquire competency for community service , spirit of volunteerism, and future career development
Help pupils to get a thorough understanding of difficult basic principles in Maths and English
Gain Self learning skills
To have Confidence to work for greater achievement in life and analyze issues critically
To think and analyze social issues critically.
One of the advantages of PAD Asociates' Exponential Education is that once a student learns how to pass on knowledge on subject areas in the programme, it trains them to help each other in the community.
